Does Iron Man Live Up To The Hype?
Author: mase

The Iron Man video game for PSP was just as highly anticipated as the motion picture release.
The game starts off in a cave where Tony Stark is being held captive by an army of ruthless soldiers. Looking to right the wrongs he helped create, Tony works on a prototype which will inevitably becomes his iconic red and gold armor. After escaping, the plot of the game sort of strays away from the movie and follows themes that sees Iron Man battling a host of foes from the popular comic book series.
The game centers around various seek-and-destroy challenges, protecting civilians and armored vehicles and blasting your way through the enemy. Unfortunately, mass destruction and explosion is all this game has to offer. The graphics of Iron Man are lacking tremendously, especially when multiple enemies bombard the screen. Most of the detail seems to be placed on the superhero’s various suits, although even that falls short of impressive.
A boring plot along with a number of technical and visual shortcomings will make it pretty hard for gamers to feel like the earth’s savior. After destroying a few terribly animated objects, you may not even be inspired to finish Iron Man.

Despertar del Cementerio is Now Available

Despertar del Cementerio version 7 doesn’t offer an extensive list of new features, but the upgrades are notable. One of the biggest improvements was made to IDStorage which can now be recovered with ease. This is a nice addition because recovering it from accidental deletions and corruption was a real pain. Another neat feature is the format flash function which helps to install 4.01 M33 and support custom flash partitioning.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Despertar del Cementerio, it is mainly used to create Pandora batteries so they can be auto-updated to the most recent M33 firmware. In order for the application to work, you need a Pandora battery along with a Magic Memory stick.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2
Author: mase

For the most part, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress is a recycled game placed into a bigger adventure. Basically, it involves a lengthy single-player mission known as the Mugenjo, the Heroes mode which features a series of team battles, head-to-head competition, and a bonus area by the name of Ninja Road. All of the bonus items you purchase can be viewed in an area called Naruto’s House.
The graphics look great, especially during battle and the animation is detailed with a stable frame rate The story part of the game looks good as well with the exception that it isn’t fully animated. Ultimate Ninja 2 doesn’t slack off in the sound department either with original music from the TV show along with authentic character voice-overs in English and Japanese.
All in all Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 offers a decent play. The addition of mini-levels and bonuses are uninspired and a bit much at times. This game is long with nearly one hundred levels, a factor that may cause you to grow tired of it very quickly.
Support For UMD Format to Continue?
Author: mase

In 2007, Sony announced that it would be discontinuing support for movie releases in UMD format. It’s believed that a lack of sales and quality control is attributed to the decision. Despite the announcement, several fans have noticed that Sony continues to provide support for UMD.
Sony recently revealed that it plans to release 5 to 7 new titles every few months along with additional titles from their own studios. This sounds like enough support to keep UMD alive for a while.
Company spokesperson John Koller states that one of the main problems with UMD formatted movies was the price, something Sony wants to address with a new approach. Koller goes on to say that titles will now retail at anywhere from $10 to $15. Furthermore, Sony is more focused on better targeting their demographic market with releases in the action and comedy genre rather than romantic dramas.

Crisis Core Popular With PSP Gamers
Author: mase
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII has quickly become a big hit among PSP gamers, successfully balancing the old with the new.
There are several new characters along with many of your old favorites including Aerith, Cloud and Tifa. You might also take a liking to characters such as Zack and the ever complex Sephiroth. Each character has their own personal story which somehow intertwines with others and sets the stage for the game.
Fans of Final Fantasy VII are sure to appreciate the finely detailed graphics of Crisis Core. While there are a few similarities, this one stands out with exclusively random battles and easy to use controls. To target your opponent, simply face their direction and attack with the “X” button. The attack is not exactly in real-time, but instead a series of lightning fast moves that allow you to select different spells and strikes. You can navigate through these options on the fly by making use of the shoulder buttons.
Gamers worldwide are not only hailing Crisis Core as the best role playing game on the PSP, but one of the best Japanese role-playing games to be released in years.
