PSP Sales Look Successful
Author: mase

The first quarter of Sony’s new fiscal year, April through June 2008) has turned out to be quite successful for the PlayStation brand. The gaming division posted a profit of $51 million, a drastic change from PS3 loss-driven quarters in the past. PSP played a major role in bringing PlayStation to profitability, with increasing hardware and software sales.During this period, PSP sold 3.72 million units worldwide, an increase of 75% over Q1 2008. Software sales went up to 11.8 million units, an increase of 20%. While improving software sales is a good sign, the total still trails significant earnings from both the PS2 and PS3.
PSP continues to meet incredible success all over the world, especially in Japan.

Is EA Getting Closer to Take-Two Ownership?
Author: mase

Earlier this week an investment journalist reported that Microsoft was the suitor for Take-Two; today, Citigroup analyst Brent Thill believes that Electronic Arts will officially purchase Take-Two by August. Thill states:
“We expect FTC approval in August and for ERTS to raise its bid slightly upon approval to $27-$28 in order to potentially seal a deal in time for holiday season GTA orders.”
However, if Take-Two refuses the bid, Thill believes that Electronic Arts “walk as the near-term economics to ERTS of a deal would deteriorate.”
It’s makes more sense than Microsoft, especially if Electronic Arts were to raise their bid from the $25 it first offered to $28. After enduring a long wait, we should have an answer soon.

If you’ve heard about the Video Game Enforcement Act but haven’t been keeping up with recent activities, consider this your crash course. The S.3315 bill would, if made law,
“…prohibit the distribution or sale of video games that do not have age-based content rating labels [and] prohibit the sale or rental of video games with adult content ratings to minors…”
GamePolitics managed to acquire a copy of the actual piece of legislation, placing a PDF of it online for people to peruse.
S.3315, which calls itself the Video Game Rating Enforcement Act of 2008, isn’t to be confused with the Video Games Ratings Enforcement Act of Reps. Jim Matheson (D-UT) and Lee Terry (R-NE), though the content of both is similar. S.3315 essentially reads that games must be rated before they can be sold or rented, that information on the said ratings be easily seen by consumers in stores, and that games with “mature” or “adults only” ratings should be sold to people of the proper age to buy said game.
Much is left unspecified in the bill, however, such as the nature of downloadable games and the issue of the independent game maker who usually can’t afford to have his game rated.
2 News PSP Games Will Release
Author: admin

You may not know this, but Square Enix had an even on the weekend in Japan called DKS3713. Now if you are wondering what why they named it that, well you are asking the wrong people. You see, these guys do some pretty CRAZY things at times. And naming an event like that, surely confirms it.
But there were a couple of good things to come out of it though. Like them naming 2 news psp games. As you may know, Square Enix revealed earlier this year how it was making Parasite Eve 3 as a mobile phone game. Well, good things come to those who wait. You see, the guys have releaved over the weekend they will release it for the psp too.
… Awesome I know.
But as you can see from the pic, there is also another psp game which they announced they will release. And that’s the other mobile phone game, Final Fantasy Agito XIII.
Apart from announcing these 2 psp games, they dodn’t say anything else about it. So we still don’t know how it plays like.
As for Agito XIII, the game play isn’t bad. You see, it plays like a “World War II-era newsreels” that gave it “a feel all its own [that] stands apart from anything that’s ever borne the Final Fantasy name before.”
As you probably know, these 2 psp games is something to look forward to.

PSP 3000 Rumored To Be In Production
Author: mase

Is it really time for a new PSP?
Well according to internet rumors, the 3000 series is already in production. Word on the web is that the new model will mainly feature physical changes such as a Playstation logo where the home button used to be and a metallic ring on the UMD door which appears to be a bit slimmer. One of the most significant changes is a microphone found to the right of the volume button, feeding into another rumor of PSP cell phone support.
Aside from a cosmetic make-over, we’ve also received word that the PSP 3000 will be much more durable. These upgrades may include dust proof, crush proof and even waterproof features to ensure that your PSP withstands the wear and tear of everyday usage. Of course we don’t suggest submerging your console in water, but this would be rather beneficial to the accident prone PSP owner.
As mentioned above, production of the PSP 3000 is only a rumor and official specs have yet to be released.
PSP Games Demo Site Worth Checking Out
Author: admin
As you know, psp game downloads can take a bit of time to download. And sometimes they aren’t worth playing. And that’s what I want to share with you.
You see, if you don’t like to read psp games reviews and all, then here’s something you may want to try. You see, psp demos don’t get much of a go. Me personally, I prefer to see things and test them out rather than read about it.
Anyway, after the psp game download demo Phantasy Star Portable was a hit, I thought I’d check the net for more for you. You see, why just stop it at just Phantasy Star!
Now you probably know how hard it is to find a site with all or most psp demos. And the reason is because some psp demos are released just for Asia. And some for Europe. So to put them on your psp can be a real pain in the ass.
Anyway, I came across this one which has close to 50 of them. Pretty awesome I know. You see, they have scoured the net and put all the psp demos into their site.
So, if you want to check out the site, have a look at PSP Demos. No problems if you have them already.
One thing I didn’t like it though was the banner. I’m more of a Ferrari man. But hey. No one’s perfect!
Feel free to let me know what you think.
Anyway, for more psp demos and stuff, make sure you bookmark our site.
PSP Game Download No Gravity
Author: admin
Ok, for all you psp gamers who love space ships and stuff. Here’s a video of what to expect when the psp game download “No Gravity - The Plague of Mind” comes out in August. (Ok. For our US community, we have to wait on this one. But it looks as though this will come out here not long after it releases in Europe. If for some reason it doesn’t, you will probably be able to pick it up at PSP Blender.)
Anyway, No Gravity is a 3D space shooter which allows you to control a spaceship from the first-person or third-person perspective. You don’t really see this from the video, but you have to get through 32 different missions which ranges from destroying enemy ships or base, escorting allied ships, raiding ground bases, clearing the mine field, etc.
The key features to this game are the first person and third person 3D view as you can tell from the video. Pretty sweet I have to say. Another cool part of this psp game is you get to hover around in 5 different ships with 3 different paints. Your choice too.
Anyway, this is what happens when Sony supports some of our psp homebrew developers. I have to say this is pure genious!
