PSP 3000 May Not be Worth the Upgrade
Author: mase

The new PSP 3000 has received mixed reviews, leaving some people wondering if they should even bother giving up their 2000s. On the surface, it’s understandable as both models look very similar. The 3000 does however, come with an anti-reflective screen, a brighter display and built-in microphone. With the mic you can make internet calls with the Skype VoIP service and enhance your gameplay.
What makes the PSP 3000 the most questionable is the steep price of $199.99. This price gets you one of four Entertainment Packs which come with free games, memory sticks and vouchers to the PlayStation Store.
So is it worth it? If you’re a diehard PSP fan, you will probably think so. The screen is undoubtedly much brighter which comes in handy when playing your games or watching movies. When throwing in the built-in hard drive with more storage capacity, the PSP 3000 definitely sounds much more attractive.

Free Wi-Fi Coming for PSP
Author: mase

Sony PSP owners are excited about the possibility of free Wi-Fi access. As the device is already Wi-Fi capable, such a service would allow gamers to take their adventures to the next level. If it were to happen, you could update your firmware from the bus stop or while taking a stroll down the block.
PSP fans don’t get all the glory because free national Wi-Fi would mean availability for Nintendo DS owners and Apple iPhone users as well. This all-in-one solution would power your portable gaming system, MP3 player and navigation system at no cost.
There are many benefits that come along with free Wi-Fi. Just think, you could go from mobile gaming to mobile online gaming. With a subscription to the PlayStation Network, you could make a connection to the online store without paying an Internet Service Provider. Most of all, anybody that lives in the big city is more likely to receive the service.
While you take the chance of having the FCC monitor your Wi-Fi activity, the advantages of a free service outweigh the disadvantages by far.
PSP Game Macross Ace Frontier Is Number One
Author: admin
I’m sure you already know that the psp game Macross Ace Frontier was going to hit humber 1one in Japan. But I bet you didn’t know it was going to hit it so soon.
You see, this week, Macross Ace Frontier is not only the top selling psp game, but it’s the TOP selling game fullstop. If you have played this game, you know why it’s numero uno. You see, I guess there’s something pretty cool about being able to give your fighter a custom paint job while listening to “Holy Lonely Light” in the background.
Anyway, if you haven’t played this psp game before then you may want to consider it. You see, it’s actually pretty easy to play. Even if you don’t speak a word of Japanese. And the reason why is because a lot of the menu is in English.SO you shouldn’t have much trouble with it.

New Features of the PSP3000
Author: mase

The PSP 3000 doesn’t look all that different on the surface, but beneath lies many new features to enhance your gaming experience.
The first notable improvement is the display which is packed with anti-reflection technology. This helps you enjoy your games without all the distracting glare the PSP 2000 was known for. While its not exactly rocket science, this useful technology makes a huge difference when combined with the broader color range. According to Sony, its anti-reflection feature doesn’t consume any extra battery power.
The PSP 3000 also comes with a built-in microphone which is found below the display. This can be used for gameplay or to make VoIP calls with Skype. The biggest attraction of Sony’s new hardware is an internal hard drive, offering far more capacity than UMD. This gives you the freedom to store more games and movies on your portable instead of traveling with all the original discs.
Couple this with new firmware that allows you to download games directly from the PlayStation Store and you have a device that looks to be well worth the wait.

DSi vs. PSP
Author: mase

Nintendo announced its DSi portable device on October 2. Added to the new DS hardware are two megapixel cameras, a slightly larger display and support for SD memory card storage. The unit will also have the ability to download your WiiWare content, play multimedia files and surf the web with its integrated Opera browser. Gamers are definitely excited about the upgrade but critics are viewing the move as a half-step rather than a full step forward
The Sony PSP already boasts several of the new features recently added to Nintendo’s DSi. PSP users can rely on Expandable Pro Due memory cards to accommodate their game, music and video files while firm updates enable the support of various file types. The Sony portable also comes with a nice browser and RSS feed reader.
There is some evidence that the DSi could overwhelm the PSP 2000. The incorporation of two cameras could definitely open up some exciting possibilities for game play. Another plus is the integration with WiiWare. If Nintendo could find a way to deliver seamless access through the DSi, it could be one achievement that gives them an advantage.

PSP Will Get Increased Support in 2009
Author: mase

According to John Koller of Sony, the company expects considerable growth for the PSP over the next year. Sony is vowing to breathe life into the declining line-up with more support and follow ups to successful franchise titles. Koller says that things didn’t go exactly as the company had expected, admitting that the release of its ports on the system were based on failed strategies. Apparently, publishers making ports of mature-rated games for the PSP quickly found out that the titles weren’t selling well.Koller goes on to say that the PSP isn’t made for ports, citing that titles such as Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, God of War: Chains of Olympus and the upcoming Midnight Club are ported titles that offer a different level of game play for the PSP.
Furthermore, Sony insists that they have a strong lineup of franchise titles ready to go for next year. While it would be nice to get something for the holiday, it looks as if we just may have to wait.
