PSP 3000 Rumored To Be In Production

Is it really time for a new PSP?
Well according to internet rumors, the 3000 series is already in production. Word on the web is that the new model will mainly feature physical changes such as a Playstation logo where the home button used to be and a metallic ring on the UMD door which appears to be a bit slimmer. One of the most significant changes is a microphone found to the right of the volume button, feeding into another rumor of PSP cell phone support.
Aside from a cosmetic make-over, we’ve also received word that the PSP 3000 will be much more durable. These upgrades may include dust proof, crush proof and even waterproof features to ensure that your PSP withstands the wear and tear of everyday usage. Of course we don’t suggest submerging your console in water, but this would be rather beneficial to the accident prone PSP owner.
As mentioned above, production of the PSP 3000 is only a rumor and official specs have yet to be released.
