Talks of A Native PSP Store

The Playstation Store has been thriving since first being introduced in November, 2006. In no time, the Playstation Network has built up an impressive lineup with thousands of selections to choose from. The improvements continued this past week as Sony launched a video rental service for owners of the PS3 and PSP. While the Playstation Network has made significant strides at reviving the Playstation name, some contest that the PSP remains under-developed and could be put to better use within the franchise.
One way to make the PSP standout would be giving the portable console its own store on the Playstation Network. As of now, gamers must download content to their PC and then transfer it to a PSP which requires use of a USB cable. Apparently, PSP Senior Product Manager John Koller agrees. He recently announced that his team at Sony is currently looking into the development of a PSP store. Furthermore, Chris Eden from Sony Computer Entertainment revealed that gamers would have the ability to download content directly to the PSP itself. We expect more details to be unveiled in the very near future. Lets just hope Sony doesn’t make us wait too long.
